Permanent Jewellery Events in Shropshire and Powys

One of my favourite things about running Lae Jewellery is taking my permanent jewellery kit on the road. I regularly pop up across Shropshire and Powys, bringing my Zapp Plus 2 welder to local venues so you can get a custom-fitted chain bracelet, anklet, or necklace welded on without travelling to my studio in Four Crosses. I started Lae Jewellery in 2020 at my kitchen table, and the name comes from the initials of the people closest to me: Lucy, Alastair, and Emma. Since those early days, I have taught myself everything from gemstone selection to permanent jewellery welding. Taking my kit to different towns and meeting customers face to face is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Where I Pop Up

I travel to seven towns across Shropshire and Powys for pop-up permanent jewellery events. Each location has its own character, and I love getting to know the communities in every one of them.

• Shrewsbury, Shropshire: The county town with its beautiful historic market setting. I often set up at local venues in the town centre, and there is always a brilliant atmosphere.
• Telford, Shropshire: A modern town that is brilliant for group bookings, hen parties, and birthday celebrations. Lots of great venues to choose from.
• Oswestry, Shropshire: The closest town to my studio, so I pop up here regularly. It is a friendly market town with a real community feel.
• Welshpool, Powys: A beautiful Welsh border town just a short drive from my studio. I love the independent shops and cafes here.
• Ludlow, Shropshire: Famous for its food scene and festivals, Ludlow is a gorgeous spot for a pop-up. It is a real destination town and I always enjoy my visits.
• Newtown, Powys: A growing community not far from my studio. Newtown has a warm, welcoming feel and I have built up a lovely regular following here.
• Newport, Shropshire: A friendly market town with a strong sense of community. I am always made to feel welcome when I set up here.

What to Expect at a Pop-Up

If you have never had permanent jewellery before, here is what happens when you come to one of my events. It is simple, quick, and completely painless.

• Choose your chain: I bring a full selection of 14ct gold filled and sterling silver chains in different styles and widths. You pick the one that feels right for you.
• Pick your add-ons: Want a birthstone charm, an initial, or a tiny heart? I have a range of add-ons you can attach to your chain for a personal touch.
• Get fitted and welded: I measure the chain to your wrist, ankle, or neck for a perfect fit. Then I use my Zapp Plus 2 welder to close the link. It takes about ten minutes and is completely painless. I place a thin leather barrier between your skin and the jewellery during welding for safety.
• Walk away wearing it: That is it. No clasp, no fiddly catch. Just a beautiful chain that sits perfectly and stays on. Pricing starts from £45 per person.

Permanent jewellery is waterproof, so you can shower, swim, and sleep in it without any worry. If you ever need it removed, a quick snip with scissors does the job, and I can re-weld it for you later.

Great for Groups

Pop-up events are perfect for friends, birthdays, and hen parties. There is something really special about choosing your chains together and getting zapped as a group. It makes for a meaningful shared memory, and everyone leaves wearing something personal.

I regularly welcome groups of all sizes at my events. If you would like to bring a group along, just let me know in advance so I can make sure I have enough time set aside for everyone.

Private Bookings and Group Events

If you would rather not wait for a pop-up, I also offer private bookings. I can bring my full permanent jewellery kit to your chosen venue anywhere across Shropshire and Powys. This works brilliantly for:

• Hen parties: Matching bracelets for the bridal party. A meaningful activity that everyone keeps forever.
• Birthday celebrations: Mother-daughter pairs, milestone birthdays, best friend groups.
• Corporate events: Team bonding with a difference. Something your colleagues will actually remember.
• Any special occasion: If you have a venue and a group, I will come to you.

You can book a private session through my SumUp booking page. A small deposit is required per person, which gets deducted from your final total.
