Permanent Jewellery in Wolverhampton
If you are looking for permanent jewellery in Wolverhampton, I regularly bring my welding kit across from my studio in Four Crosses, Powys, to pop-up events in the West Midlands. Wolverhampton is close to the Shropshire border, making it one of the areas I visit most often. For all my service locations, visit my main permanent jewellery across Shropshire and Powys page.
Permanent jewellery is a chain bracelet, anklet, or necklace that is custom-fitted to your wrist and welded shut. No clasp, no fiddly catches. Just a seamless piece of real jewellery that stays with you until you decide otherwise.
What Is Permanent Jewellery?
I use a Zapp Plus 2 micro welder to join a sterling silver 925 or 14ct gold filled chain directly onto your wrist, ankle, or neck. A thin leather barrier sits between the chain and your skin, so the spark only touches the metal. The whole process takes about ten minutes and is completely painless.
The result is a beautiful, claspless piece of jewellery made from real materials that will not tarnish, flake, or discolour. Gold filled chains are 50 to 100 times thicker than gold plating and last 10 to 30 years with normal wear.
Pricing
Permanent jewellery starts from £45 for a sterling silver chain. Gold filled options are available at a slightly higher price point. Add-on charms, initials, and birthstones are available for a personal touch.

Why Choose Lae Jewellery?
My name is Lucy, and I started Lae Jewellery in 2020 at my kitchen table during lockdown. The name Lae stands for the initials of my family: Lucy, Alastair, and Emma. Six years on, I handcraft every piece in my studio in Four Crosses, Powys, SY22 6NE, using only 925 sterling silver and 14ct gold filled metals.
I do not use plated metals for permanent jewellery. Every chain is solid, hypoallergenic, and built to last years of daily wear.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does permanent jewellery hurt?
Not at all. The weld is fast and safe. A thin leather barrier protects your skin so the spark only touches the metal. Most people say they barely notice it.
Can I shower with permanent jewellery?
Yes. Both sterling silver and gold filled chains are waterproof. Swim, shower, and sleep with ease. Sterling silver may develop a patina over time, which polishes off easily.
How long does permanent jewellery last?
Gold filled chains last 10 to 30 years with normal wear. Sterling silver lasts decades. Both are designed for everyday life.
What if I need to remove it?
You can snip it off with scissors at any time. If you want it back on, I can re-weld it. For more detail, read my guide on removing permanent jewellery.
